Mothers Day & Mumma's Birthday!

So last Sunday was obviously Mothering Sunday and once again my Mums Birthday fell on that day too! So back in Jan/Feb time I booked afternoon tea for us at The Vanbrugh House Hotel down St Michael's Street in Oxford! It was an absolute bargain, £19 to pay but worth £46 I believe.

It was absolutely adorable, when we arrived we were warmly welcomed my the lovely ladies who showed us to our seats. They then came out with a red rose and a huge slab of toffee cake for my Mum as we mentioned it was her Birthday! We then had a gigantic glass of processco each and browsed the Tea menu. I let Mum pick as I still dont really drink hot drinks... However tried both teas and was pleasantly surprised! After sipping our glasses of prosseco for a little while out came a adorable cake tier stand! We had a mixture of cute little sarnies, scones cream & Jam, and different cakes to feast on! The best part for me was the shot glass of chocolate mousse with Strawberries!

After we had quite literally stuffed ourselves.. We left so much too!! We had a mooch around Oxford for a few hours and spent most of our time enjoying each others company and laughing. I wanted to share this with you as it was just such a perfect day and I want to be able to look back and remember it!

This weekend has been absolutely lovely too, I have the best friends and family!

Have a great day,

Emily

A lovely day.

After a long lush sleep and a well needed snooze in the morning we got up and had egg&soldiers, my absolute fave! We then made a list of ALL the things we need to do to the house and and a list of ALL the things to buy! We decided to crack on with the list and headed out to get some bits&bobs. We came back with some really randon items.. A microwave / A toilet seat / cleaning items!

Before we started on our jobs we went over and helped my Mum with some jobs she couldn't do herself. We have been decorating my Mummas room for her and had a few loose ends to tie up. Maybe I will do a little post on it once she has it how she wants it. After we headed home we pottered about and managed to cross some things of the list! I am absolutely loving turning our house in to a home, theres still so much to do but it is so satisfying doing it ourselves!

This evening has been perfect and relaxing, typical Sunday eve.. Curry ordered, film on and some treats for afters!

What have you done with your Sunday Funday?

Thanks for reading,

All my love,

Emily
